1) Sopra la panca la capra campa. Sotto la panca la capra crepa.

[Above the bench the goat gets by/lives. Below the bench the goat keels over/dies.]

2) Chi troppo in alto sal, cade sovente – precipitevolissimevolmente.

[He who goes up too high, often falls – very, very, very fast (plummeting).]

 3) E’ una pena mangiare queste penne, meglio il pane!

[It’s a pity (pain) to eat these penne (pasta), better bread!]

4) Al Poggio si viaggia adagio e non si mangia formaggio.

[At/In Poggio (name of a town, venue or locale) one travels slowly and cheese is not eaten.]

5) Un gioioso raggio di sole, a maggio, incoraggia pure un grigio gatto randagio.

[A joyous ray of sun, in May, encourages even stray gray cat.]
